Former Stoke City and Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic will leave Queens Park Rangers when his contract expires this summer., external

The 37-year-old signed for the Hoops last summer and made 46 appearances for the club.

QPR began the season under Gareth Ainsworth before the ex-Wycombe Wanderers boss was sacked with the club second-from-bottom in the Championship.

Marti Cifuentes was brought in and led the west London club to an 18th-placed finish.

Begovic made more than 100 appearances for both Stoke and Bournemouth either side of a spell at Chelsea in which he served as back-up to Thibaut Courtois in the Blues' 2016-17 Premier League title-winning season.

He has 63 international caps for Bosnia-Herzegovina.

QPR have signed Scotland Under-21 centre-back Liam Morrison from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee and have also brought in Brazilian right-back Hevertton Santos.

Morrison, 21, joined Bayern from Celtic as a 16-year-old but did not make a first-team appearance for the German club. He spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, playing 35 times for the League One side.

Santos, 23, has moved to west London after his contract at Portuguese top-flight club Estrela da Amadora expired.

Rangers have not disclosed the length of either player's contract at Loftus Road.

Santos said: “I like this type of challenge. Life is made of opportunities and this is a big one for me.

QPR have signed Slovenia striker Zan Celar from Swiss side Lugano for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old made three appearances for his country at the Euros in Germany this summer and has 13 caps in total.

The move comes on the same day QPR's young player of the season Sinclair Armstrong joined fellow Championship club Bristol City.

“The next step now is important for me and I think this is the right place. I will try to do what I have been doing and hopefully I can help the team with my goals.”

Celar, who was an 86th-minute substitute in Slovenia's 0-0 draw with England at the Euros, began his career at Maribor before moving to Roma in 2018.

He made just one league appearance for the Serie A side and had loan spells at Citadella and Cremonese, before moving to Lugano in 2021, where he scored 40 goals in 103 games.

QPR begin the new Championship season at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, 10 August.

Queens Park Rangers have signed ball-winning midfielder Jonathan Varane from Spanish club Sporting Gijon for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Frenchman made 25 appearances for second-tier side Gijon last season, having joined them in 2022.

He is the fifth signing of the summer by Rangers following Paul Nardi, Liam Morrison, Hevertton Santos and Zan Celar.

"I know the style of QPR and I think for me it is a good move to continue my career here," Varane told the club website., external

No details of the length of his contract have been disclosed.

QPR finished 18th in the Championship last season after winning their final three games.

They begin the new campaign on Saturday with a lunchtime home match against West Bromwich Albion.

Queens Park Rangers have signed attacking midfielders Koki Saito and Karamoko Dembele on season-long loans.

Former Celtic and England youth player Dembele, 21, joins from French side Brest.

He made his Celtic debut aged 16 and played for their under-20 side aged just 13.

Dembele spent last season on loan at League One side Blackpool where he scored nine goals in 47 games and provided 14 assists.

Japan youth international Saito, 23, joins from Belgian side Lommel having spent the past two years on loan at Dutch top-flight club Sparta Rotterdam.

He was part of the Japan Under-23 side that reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games.

“This is a great platform for me to progress in my career," Dembele told the QPR website.

Both players deals are subject to international clearance while Saito is also awaiting a work permit.

QPR have signed Danish midfielder Nicolas Madsen from Belgian club Westerlo for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old is the west London club's eighth summer signing.

The length of the contract has not been specified and the transfer is subject to him obtaining a visa.

Madsen began his career in Denmark at Midtjylland, where he made 35 appearances, and spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Heerenveen in the Netherlands.

He moved to Westerlo in 2022, scoring 16 goals in 71 appearances.

"I am a very technical player even though I am also quite tall," he told the club's website., external

"Last season I played as a six, eight and 10, and it gives me the flexibility to perform in all these positions."

The R's have one point from their opening two Championship games and host Plymouth Argyle at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Queens Park Rangers have signed Harrison Ashby on a season-long loan from Newcastle United.

The 22-year-old right-back moved to St James' Park from West Ham in January 2023 before moving to Swansea on loan last summer.

"There is only one place that I wanted to come and I am really excited for what’s ahead," Ashby told QPR's website., external

Meanwhile, full-back Reggie Cannon has had his QPR contract terminated by mutual consent.

United States international Cannon made 21 appearances after leaving Portuguese side Boavista as a free agent in June 2023.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Kieran Morgan has signed a new "long-term" deal with the Championship club.

The 18-year-old has become a regular in Marti Cifuentes' side, making 17 appearances for the club since his senior debut in October.

Morgan scored his first goal for the club when he came off the bench in a 1-1 draw with Coventry City in just his second appearance.

The teenager, who was released by Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has started each of the Hoops' past five league games.

"Ever since I have come in, I have felt at home straight away. My family have said that as well, when they come and watch there is a family feel," he told the club's website, external.

"You have got to feel good off the pitch to play well on the pitch, and I think I have shown that.

"With opportunities that have come around I have taken them, and that's credit to the staff that have trusted me, and the players."

After a tough start to the season, QPR have risen to 13th in the table with just one defeat in their last 11 matches.

The Rs, who were knocked out of the FA Cup in a 6-2 hammering at Leicester City at the weekend, travel to struggling Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

Rayan Kolli has signed a new long-term deal with Queens Park Rangers, continuing his stay at the club he has been at for 11 years.

The 19-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a new contract with the length of the agreement undisclosed by the Hoops.

He has made 11 appearances this season in the Championship, scoring three goals and registering two assists.

"I am very excited," Kolli told the club website., external

"This is home, I am delighted to be here and to carry on developing here, I can't really describe it or put it into words.

"This is my club. QPR is all I have known so carrying on my journey here is amazing.

"I remember myself as a young ball boy seeing all those goals go in (at Loftus Road), and I would always say to myself 'that's going to be me one day."

Kolli featured in two friendlies for the Algeria Under-20 side in late 2024.

Queens Park Rangers have signed South Korean teenager Yang Min-Hyeok on loan from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old winger moved to the Premier League side from K-League Gangwon earlier this month.

Yang becomes Marti Cifuentes' second signing of the transfer window, after defender Ronnie Edwards arrived on loan from Southampton on 1 January.

Kieran Morgan, Alfie Lloyd, Rayan Kolli and Ilias Chair have all also signed new contracts at Loftus Road.

"I have great memories of Korean legend Ji-sung Park who used to play here. I really want to play and I want to show up in the matches regularly," he told QPR's website., external

Meanwhile, right-back Hevertton has joined Portuguese side Vitoria SC for the remainder of the season after making nine appearances in all competitions for the Hoops this season.

QPR are 13th in the Championship, one place and one point ahead of Millwall ahead of their game this weekend.
