31 Aug, 2021 Transfer Window: Championship Rebuild
Great news !! All of us hope he makes the midfield position his own with some commanding displays. He must continue to learn how he can make the most impact.
I'm sure he has more goals in him, we all love a midfielder who gets into the box and scores goals.
The Slav effect ?

Don't know much about Filip Krovinovic, but just happy to have someone in. On Youtube clips he looks bright and pacey which is what we need. The only downer is another loan which means if he does well someone else will snap him up.

Good news that Harper has signed up, although I still think he has a lot to learn as he drifted in and out of games last year. But showed enough signs that if he has the right attitude he can develop into a very good player.

I wonder if we are looking at Michael Morrison who has just left Blues as a replacement for Dawson? Was Blues captain last season in a side that worked really hard. Chipped in with 7 league goals which is very decent from a centre half. Would be a freebie which would suit Jenkins and given he's never played in the Premier League would probably mean he fits within the wage structure as well.

I would have liked us to sign Conor Masterson (released by L'Pool) he's only 20 and has the potential to be a great CH - He has now signed for QPR, one to keep an eye on.
M M can also play RB on a free is fine but at 31 would be a stop gap, I'm sure we can do better. I think it's time we looked at at our own.

I’m very happy to see Harper staying. He’s only young so staying with us will help his development long term rather than moving to a bigger club and being loaned out for the season.

I still think we need to sign another central player to complement what we have. I’d like Markus Henriksen from Hull but I’m not sure how much he’d cost us.

I expect to see Chalobah sign on loan from Chelsea instead. Both would be better.

The Dingles may have a fly in the ointment? Mendes is lining up a swap deal AC Milans Andre Silva for Ruben Neves?
I see this as a major problem for the Dingles - but not for Mendes as he's the agent for both players. He gets the agents fees for both players.
I love it when a plan comes together.

Hegazi is on his way back to us. Egypt have been knocked out of the AFCON by South Africa.

I have to say that I wasn’t as impressed with the centre back pairing tonight as I was in the previous match. They were solid but Hegazi and Alaa are just too similar (tall, strong) in my opinion and lack mobility and pace especially against an athlete like Mothiba. Against Uganda, Hegazi and El Mohamady looked better to me as El Mohamady was more mobile and could cover ground better than Hegazi. The Hegazi, Alaa pairing has also been a strange first choice for this AFCON considering Hegazi and El Mohamady was the first choice pairing during the AFCON qualifiers.

Speaking of El Mohamady, he could be an signing option for us at centre back. Right now we have Bartley and Hegazi and we need to replace Dawson and Tosin. El Mohamady is only 22 so not yet in his prime and is the future of Egypt’s defence along with Hegazi. Maybe a bid of £250,000 to his club Ismaily could get the ball rolling. Then we would have the Dawson money to sign another quality centre back, maybe even a left footer which we haven’t had since Olsson left.

El Mohamady also did an interview earlier in the year where he said that he’d like to play in the Premier League some day.

No he doesn't. That would be silly and illegal. Embezzlement is an offence..... Thumb up Big Grin
