Coventry City v Huddersfield Town

Apparently some other boy band had a bigger attendance, mostly full of screaming girlies wetting their knickers, however, when you sell out, you sell out. The Boss had a much bigger stage so the attendance was reduced accordingly - not that I was at the boy band wet knicker gig, hence I said the one's I attended.

PS - Your Lady Godiva pic didn't work but I managed to track it down. https://www.agefotostock.com/age/en/Stoc...V-10001858. Tasteful bit of artwork by Page Three of the Scum standards of the time that.

Anyhoooo - back to the football (I've turned the lights back on) if there's one thing that's consistent about Town this season it's our inconsistency. That said - there's more chance of Bradford derby next season than them trying to take the hug and kiss out of us for not having played in the Prima Donna League ever again.

I did one of the Etihad gigs too. That were a nightmare to get back from.

Although there were thunder clouds over the stadium all night it did nowt worth the name of rain in Mancland after mid-afternoon, but The River Calder had burst it's banks just about everywhere from Tod to Sowerby Bridge. I'd stayed at my brothers and after getting into Manc Victoria after walking passed Piccadilly on the way back, several of us were despatched back to Piccadilly to get the last train to Huddersfield. We were then stuffed in a cab that went everywhere but where we wanted to be before we were dumped at Halifax Station and a half-hour's walk back to my brothers. Needless to say, trying to pick a route that wasn't flooded the day after out of West Yorkshire and back over t'hill was another several hours of futility. Think I arrived home about 4-5 hours after I set off when it normally takes just over 2. I'd just got to Oldham after 2 hours. However I think it was also that time (may be wrong) when most of Elland Bridge disappeared into the Calder too.

And you tell the kids of today .......

If Town had had been playing City on that hot Summer English night, I'd still have been there.

To be honest, it's been like that every time I've seen him. I'm waiting, waiting for a summers day, gonna chase the clouds away ... but he never does.

Cracking thread Snoots Thumb up
Always quite liked Coventry - maybe it was them brown shirts they had in the 70's.
I think this game is a pivotal game for us. Win and we really should start looking at a possible play off push.
Draw and it's mid table obscurity.
Lose and we might get involved in a relegation scrap.
I'm cautiously optimistic that we might win this.

Don't think Diarra will feature in this one. He's just played 120 minutes in the Youth Cup and he was blooming marvellous. Definitely a star in the making. Also another French lad, Camara. Excellent. Whole team was really and really unlucky to lose to Newcastle on pens.
