I just checked up my figures and see we need at least a draw tonight and a win against Rangers to guarantee 3rd in the league.
Sorry guys.

FT and a 2-1 loss in a highly unsatisfactory game that Lenny was clearly wanting to win. I personally didn't like Lenny's tactics tonight in changing a decent back three formation and sadly Stevo has delivered the match to them! I would've also played big Marv, a MOTM in the last two Embro derbies but hey ho, Lenny wanted to 'go for it'! We move on with a very good manager - something Hertz most certainly do not not have in spite of this disappointing result!! This result will just spur on Lenny (if he remains at ER) to attain another level beyond Potter's capabilities!!

Massive disappointment, I thought lennon got the tactics wrong last night and we were way too open in the middle. Why we changed our tactics I don't know. Stevenson gifted them both goals on a plate.

Our worst 2 performances this season have been at the PBS, and its proved costly. I did warn before the game we would have to handle their physicality and I don't think we did.

The board has to support lennon now,i know his emotions get on top of him at times but he is the right "fit" for our manager and with the backing of rod and leeanne and record ST sales I think we can really kick on.

Yep! I concur with that view and still feel Lenny has more to offer to improve this Hibs team for future challenges. We will lose some key players but I reckon we are structured to cope with that thanks to the sterling efforts of Leeann and George Craig in modernising Hibs and transforming them into one of the most progressive footie clubs in Scotland.

The last thing we need is lennon to go and another colin Calderwood type to come in. He's got the club back to where it belongs.

I'm hoping in the cold light of day that his comments were just down to disappointment on the night, and he will be staying on.

It would suit that negative Hertz c### Potter with his limited view on footie life Jim - the dregs rise to the surface as the saying goes! On a broader front, Scottish footie has benefited from the positive contribution by the likes of Hibs and Killie this season and the last thing we need is these clubs regressing!!! We need them to improve further if poss in order to hopefully improve the general standard of the Scot Premiership with decent competition. The same applies to the general refereeing standard - it is f###### awful and something needs to be done to change it for the better - a real challenge TBH but if we are gonna be that serious re our footie up here, we have to deal with this festering problem that just continues on n on!

0762,
I`m sure your pinpointing of our referees will be shown again when we meet Rangers on Sunday because the twisted lot at Hamden will make sure they finish second in the league. It`s a sad reflection on our league when a team in turmoil like Rangers can be second and qualify for Europe.
I fully expect them to get an early penalty to help them on their way and things go against Aberdeen at Parkhead.
As for that di## at Hertz I`m afraid that`s all to be said for him, he`s a DI##. end of story.
We need to look forward to next season and hope the board back Lenny so that he can keep improving on the great job he has started this season.

I'm really disappointed about last night, not only with the result and performance, but also Lennon's comments. Perhaps understandable, but a bit "toys out of the pram" in his attitude. Unless of course, it was a tactical masterstroke to lay down a marker for his expectations against Rangers.

Remember a lot of our players came up from the Championship and are doing great in the Premiership. Lennon has done brilliantly with them and if he wants, he can get them to progress again. We have had some great results, but some totally pathetic losses against "lesser" teams. It'll be up to him and the board to sort things out, but as far as I'm concerned his job at Hibs is not yet done and I don't believe he's a quitter, just a sore loser.

You are 'spot on' re the sore loser description ritchie and the emotions from a 'sore loser' can be far more irrational than someone who 'couldnae care less' - that is a fact! Give me sore losers any day of the week because these people care a lot more than others and can be more difficult to beat! I've had some great team mates in my time who were indeed 'sore losers' and would literally 'kick through walls' in frustration after losing games.
And 1Wattie, it is funny you mentioning the suspicion that Rangers will be conveniently given the match result at ER by the 'powers that be' as I had sent a text to bbc Sportsound earlier tonight intimating that Hibs will beat the Huns on Sunday (contrary to Stephen Thompson's 'wishful thinking') and the only deterrent to a comprehensive defeat by Hibs will be if another 'dodgy ref' is assigned to this fixture!! We'll see how accurate my comment is after this match! Rolleyes It wouldn't surprise me if Sunday's ref is Bobby Madden in a game where impartiality is absolutely paramount but that could be violated due to the circumstances of this ultimate fixture.

Thing is you can only call out the players so many times,be interesting to see the kind of performance we are going to get at the weekend.

having seen his interview back with a clearer head its not as bad as I first feared. 'a toys out the pram' moment for sure but also an appeal to the board to back him for next season. We will find out next week after the board meeting I guess, I cant imagine them not giving him a decent budget, especially with the likely sale of mcginn and a lot of wages coming out the squad, season tickets through the roof etc. But he is going to be closer to the discussions than we are.
