And as I guess we are stuck with TP I'm afraid park the bus it is.

I do say WHY we are stuck with him...........

I don't understand why you got rid of RDM. He did well with you and got you back into the league first time of asking. TP is an alright manager and has done well at clubs with a small budget but he does play route one with long balls from the back and route one can work but its not always the most attractive. If you pay your money you want to see a football match with both teams going for it not just defending hoping to get a draw or a 1-0 win.

Realistically there are only 4-6 teams in the Premier League which can challenge for the title and the other 14-16 teams just make up the numbers. Leicester was an exception and doubt it will ever be repeated. But if you look at the league tables before the Premier League was formed you had Everton, Liverpool, Derby, Nottingham, Wolves etc challenging for the league and the winner used to change unless Liverpool were winning it.

Nice to see a fan from another club chipping in on the debate on this.

Personally I was never a fan of Pulis because of his history going back as far as Gillingham, but he was exactly what we needed when he was appointed because he has kept us up and in the money when it would have been the worst possible time to get relegated. That's the level of club of which he thrives at.

Unfortunately though despite the extra money, change of owners and what was a decent transfer window in comparison to some howlers we've had in recent years, the football we're playing has gone backwards hugely since we hit 40 points last season and hasn't improved.

I think he'll have until December to save his skin, but what I'd give just to see us setup to have a go at teams instead of just trying to nick a 1-0. We've seen better football from lesser squads up the Albion not all that long ago, so it's not like we're asking for the impossible of winning the league. Just some odds spells in games to get the fans on their feet again.

Thanks, Matt, but don't remember the Wolves bit. Did you mean Walsall?

Not wishing to sound alarm bells but drove past Pulis’s house yesterday and it’s on the market, just hoping he’s not been told he has a job for life and is moving closer to The Hawthorns. Maybe to get in earlier and work them ‘arder at tracking back to the goalmouth. Either that or the Chairman wouldn’t lend him the money to pay Palace back

That's very interesting, BB.
As you said 2-3 years back (probably pre Irvine), I wonder if we could do a swop for Eddie Howe.

Because in the middle of a relegation battle, when the team were losing games left right and centre and the defence was conceding goals for fun, RDM was spending his days out on the golf course rather than coaching them.

Wow that's pretty unprofessional.

Didn't win it I don't think. Now there in the Championship looking to get back in the Premier League. Bit of a weird one Wolves are because they remind me of Hull and possibly Reading where they sort of Yo-Yo between the leagues, no stability unless its mid-table in the Championship. Birmingham City are the same they got relegated to the Championship and for the last few season just avoided the drop but it won't be long before they fall into L1 if there not careful. Aston Villa used to be mid-table possibly top 7 (sometimes) but the last few seasons they just managed to stay in the Premier League and then eventually they fell out, very much doubt it they will make it back soon either.
