 F'ucking sailing  holding your breath under water with your toes pointing out riding a bike etc etc etc Women's Beach Volleyball can stay though

Golf & Tennis shouldn't be in Olympics for me.

While I personally don't mind a bit of Golf. It's not worthy of an Olympic sport. I think out of Softball, Golf and Karate, the event should have gone to Karate. However, Golf was part of the Olympics in 1904. Rugby sevens is making a debut. Though Rugby Union was also part of the games in 1924. Tennis, not only is it a game only Scotland can win for Britain. I feel it's also lacking in terms of an Olympic event. I feel it doesn't truly reward athleticism anymore. There's more Gold's to be won playing Tennis, Table Tennis & Horse Dancing than competing in the Triathlon. As usual I'll be happy to watch Athletics, diving and cycling among a few others like pentathlon.

McIlroy is right what he said about golf when he pulled out, for most golfers the Olympic Gold is not something they crave or are even measured by, that honor belongs to the 4 majors and that is what the kids dream about winning. The Olympics should be for sports where winning the gold is the pinnacle of achievement for that sport and that could be measured by the participation of the best players for each sport at Games and golf has really failed in that this time around. Tennis has learned to love it but the Grand Slams still take precedence over it. If anything squash should be back in before either of these sports.
