In Rainbows defence, it is transfer time and our lack of/late purchase of any player is symptomatic due to our place in the pecking order. Austin for 4 million was a miss but Southampton aren't a team from the capital competing in the top 4, but they're a solid club with good support/infrastructure and a decent future so a good fit all round really.

It is frustrating and we all know Peace's ability to ring out the very best in every deal sometimes see's us a bit late or not at all. I feel we will do a little bit of business but January isn't the time to restructure the squad, lets see where we are in May and reassess. I'm confident we'll stay up and there are at least 3-4 teams worse than we are.

Lets breathe for now, see what the window brings, hopefully 3 pts against the Vile and on to the next one!!!

Even someone on loan to cover for the injured Morrison would be something.

Jimmy only got injured last week... Doh

How long do you think this transfer malarky takes? Just a quick phone call to QPR and job done? ffs.

....and 'tight wad' is sooo last year.

As usual we deal away from the media. I have no complaints about JP or TP. But will be shocked if we end the window without activity.

We are a 'rich' club because we have JP.

Stairs.  My post was tongue in cheek and I quite like the way JP runs the club, but I would not go to the extent of saying we are a rich club because we have JP.

The reason we are in the top 30 is purely because we are in the Premiership and like another 16 Premiership clubs in the top 30 clubs receive very large sums of money from t.v. rights, a sum which will increase even more this year, if we are still around to receive it, which I hope we will be. (tongue in cheek :-))

In fact if you follow the logic that we are were we are financially because of JP then we should get rid of him because 16 other Premiership clubs are richer (tongue in cheek) Tongue

Why`s it a wind up?
We`re down to the bare bones in midfield and could be going into the 2nd part of the season with just Yacob and Gardner.
Darren Gibson could do a decent job for us as I think he`s out of favour at Everton.

Think I might still have Firey's e-mail addy from the old BBC 606 days - should I send him a message inviting Firey to join us ?
