I followed TerrierTim's link and discovered the following:-
"NEWS: End of an era on Friday at one of Huddersfield's best-known hostelries, The King's Head, next door to Huddersfield Rail Station. The popular snug, immediately to the right of the entrance has been taken down as part of the £200,000 renovations undertaken by landlord Bruce Travis."

followed by

"Police are appealing for information after a man suffered serious facial injuries following an assault in Huddersfield town centre."

Has someone thumped the pub landlord just because the pub will be shut for a couple of days? Sad state of affairs if these stories are linked.

Nice pub but I only go there two or three times a season when we do a train trip rather than a car trip but nowt wrong with the ale on offer.

So what does this have to do with our goalie issue? We've goalies coming out of our goolies. Last time I looked we had at least 4 or 5 of them with squad numbers. How many more do we need? Smithies gone to QPR? Pffffttt. Far more trivial than a proper pub being shut for a day or two. Come on lads n lasses, get your priorities sorted ffs. We need a centre forward that knows where t'onion bag is, or one that can show t'rest of 'em where it is like Gr'olt did last season, not another bloody goalie. Get that sorted please Mr. 'oyle. Gr'olt back on loan wouldn't be a bad move. It would piss Wigan off big time if we send him back broken again but hey, there's a lot worse out there.

Anyone want the Hull keeper on loan? Two days after supposedly signing a 250 grand deal with a glove company he apparently can't catch a cold let alone an easy cross. Fit right in with us he would.

OK, maybe not then.

This match showed us just how important young Buttercup is to us. For the first half hour it looked like he had had his head turned by Derby County and we had nothing at all in midfield. But then he woke up and started to play. From then on it was much better.
The crowd got behind the team brilliantly, those who could be arsed turning up. The "South" Stand making loads of noise throughout, with the rest of the stadium joining in to make a great atmosphere.
Butts's goal, I don't know how he managed to get it in from there, brilliant son. And their goal, what a fantastic run from Baldcock. Pity none of our lads could tackle him, but well done to him.

Now then, jjamez.
When they scored after 17 seconds it almost gave me a Sheer Heart Attack. The Game got better though. The atmosphere at first was like a quiet Night At The Opera, but soon got more like a rowdy Day At The Races. After that start, we were all hoping for The Miracle to come and it did with a Kind Of Magic from Butterfield. If only we could've got another it would've been Made In Heaven and made good reading in the News Of The World.

Complete role reversal from Saturday.

1st half pretty poor, especially in defence. Time and and again Brighton cut through our team like a knife through butter, it was like a continuation of the 2nd half from Saturday. How we got in at half time at 0-1 is a mystery.
2nd half was a massive improvement but still a long way to go. Butterfield scoring probably sealed the thought in Derbys heads that he's the man he needs....expect further bids for him before the weeks our.
Not the best angle to he him score but unlike the keeper at least I did see it.
Nahki Wells, I may be harsh on the lad but did he have the chance to win it for us? The ball seemed to flash across goal and he didn't connect very well with it or was it just too far in front.

Missed the opening goal was sitting down and we never really got to grips with them for the remaining 44 mins.

Second half we just seemed to be allover them not letting their slick pass and move game dominate us and get in vital blocks and interceptions. Murphy was solid with a couple of good stops and early on the one on one block kept us alive.

Buttercups goal was superb, tight angle sheer pace, he really is head n shoulders above anything else we have or have had for many a year, god help us if Burnnley or Derby are prepared to fork out £5m. Without Scanz width Hogg n Whitehead too samey but is Powell brave enough to go with 2 wide men.

Credit to JV for a bustling 15 mins, might not have heard Deano's comments pre match but he's 100% correct, who else would take a gamble on his record to pay the wages we do, he owes us even if its just till January.

The South Stand 500 really did make a difference it was like a morgue 1st half but everyone got into it as the team responded accordingly, good point on the night.

Great point about the south stand, they really made some noise last night and if they can keep that up for the season I'm sure Dean Hoyle,Chris Powell and the players will appreciate the backing
