He was old(ish) - 82. Liked a bevvy and a smoke his whole life and survived three different cancers.

He also came from the east end of Glasgow and 82 challenges Methuselah there.

Drank in the Bristol Bar for years, also the Duke and the Ali Bar. For the last few years he lived in the Pollokshaws area, but i can't remember his local.

RANGERS: Bell, Foster, Wallace, McGregor, Zaliukas, Smith, Murdoch, Law, Shiels, Vuckic, Miller
SUBS: Robinson, Black, Clark, Boyd, Crawford, Streete, Walsh

Has the penny finally dropped?

Strange inclusion of Smith, could it be a 352 with Wallace at CB? Good to see Streete making the bench.

Midfield needs to be brave under pressure, and we have to take our chances when they come along.

0-1. Smith free-kick. Great goal.

Not a bad performance so far at a venue and against a team that's troubled us.

I said our luck had to change.

Ffs. 1-1.

1-2 Shiels. 2 goals at Palmerston, who'd have believed it?

This was a good open game, end to end, highlighted by a superb free kick by Stevie Smith to open the scoring for Rangers.
At the third time of asking, Rangers have gained a positive result at Palmerston Park, which gives us the advantage for the second leg at Ibrox next Sunday.

1 - 2 will indeed do, given our recent history against QotS. However, I still think we go out of our way to make things difficult for course!ves.

Job done in the first leg, well done!! Now you have to finish the tie off by getting the first goal in the return leg at Ibrox.
