Hibs v Falkirk - 18/04/15
#11
I attended this match and after about 15 mins the most glaring feature of Falkirk's defensive line was the fact there was a space opening up in front of their pen box D and few Hibs players had the gumption to drive through that space and kick the kind of shot that punishes that kind of defensive set up from 20-25 yards - so irritating to watch. Fraser Fyvie was the only Hibs player who did it in the 1st half and it should've been a goal - he unluckily hit McDonald's post and the ball didn't hit the net!! I don't rate Houston that highly - IMO a better and more direct and incisive team will dismantle this Falkirk side. They'd better pray that Celtic don't make that final because I definitely reckon they could well lose 5 or 6 goals with such a defensive set up - they were not that good today! Hibs ineptness to capitulate on their weaknesses was paramount in them losing this game as they've done before!! As for Stubbs use of substitutes - I spit on that unimpressive practise with utter contempt - clueless! Hibs never lost a Scottish Cup tie in the past eight fixtures v Falkirk and they certainly blotted the copybook in this 9th cup tie - a shocker but not a total surprise!

It shouldn't have been a goal 0762 because McDonald saved it, he got fngers on the ball that put it onto the post good save from the keeper.

0762 are you Tynie07 by any chance?

Nope. Who is tynie? Also a good save but a lucky one that could well have gone into his net anyway! You need luck and they had loads of luck in this match. They even had a referee who played a good match in their right back position - crazy! I can't see Falkirk doing anything in the final as they're clearly not good enough in various defensive and mid positions but they'll get some welcome money from being there and that's the same money that Hibs will miss badly!

You sure yer no yer posts are very much in the same way lol.

Nah good save not a lucky one the luck was coming back off the post right into his arms, aye twice he got himself in the way unfortunate but it happens, endo of the day hibs had the chances but yet again failed to convert,I hope it's solved by the play offs

First post on here guys, so don't give me grief. Fred, we know each other from another forum (you'll know by my avatar).

Disappointed to read Stubbs comments after the match, thought he was very ungracious. Falkirk certainly seem to have the indian sign over Hibs and have clearly worked out how to beat them.

Just wondering how much of an impact this result will have on the remainder of Hibs season.

The Livy performance in midweek will be a good indicator if Hibs season is over mate. Also Houston was just as ungracious with his post-match comments! It's the second time the Falkirk manager has made these sort of comments. Stubbs is just gutted, the same as thousands of other Hibs fans. Anyway Celtic are deservedly 1-0 ahead of ICT at half-time and watch for one of the most outrageous refereeing decisions that you'll ever see in recent times - a stonewall hand-ball pen for Celtic and a straight red card to Meekings seconds before half-time, both denied by the referee, McLean, and a massive gaffe by him and his idiotic assistant beside the ICT goal! Celtic will 'wipe the floor' with this Falkirk team in the final if that score remains the same! Griffiths to score a hat trick - that would be ironic.

Hi Exeter, just thought i'd drop in and see who was on board here, maroon1 was telling me yesterday 606 had been taken down. Had a quick scan through some of the sub forums and recognised some of the usual suspects. Might make this a regular haunt for a bit of variety.

Sorry Fred....meant to say "welcome Wayne"

Aye 0:7 the handball was as blatant as it could be.....penalty and a red card..........but thats the luck a side needs.....something that was lacking for us at Hampden yesterday. As for Wednesday, yes it is important but you know as well as I we could win every game till the final play off game and then blow it.
