No time for sentimentality, TM was an appointment made with the heart and not with the brain or the future in mind. We have shown relegation form since his arrival.
He inherited a decent squad, comfortably in the playoffs, and has taken us backwards.
Some baffling decisions in selection, substitutions, transfers. I know transfers not necessarily down to TM but Palmer out was a shocker, and the insistence of playing Armstrong was just as bad!! Don’t even get me started on the complete lack of discipline on the pitch.

Sadly I have to agree, I was so chuffed when we appointed TM, though I have said several times I just did not get TM's team selection and substitutions, but he is the proven expert so you have to say OK. Now I have to ask serious questions, I do wonder if BTA is allowing himself a sneaky smile Sad

Seasons over, holiday time.

Didn’t want Tony back, he had his time, going back never works. Thanks but goodbye. Time for a manager who knows how to get the best out of his players, TM has failed. Strong position to failure in three months. Any hope of promotion gone now for years to come. No finances to build the squad or get in a decent striker that is the quality we need.

Very frustrated as to our final outcome, will now be second best to blues next year with the money they have available. Every black cloud has an even blacker lining.

Oh dear.
I always want to defend TM, but it's getting harder and harder..... actually, now it's impossible.
I'd like him to do the honourable thing.....
.... BUT - as has been said - replace him with who?
Not that I'm "in the know" at all.
Josh.... JOSH!! Where are you??!

In a way it's nice not to have to worry about what happens in the last few games of the season.
In another way, absolutely gutted.

I've missed more games in the second half of this season than ever. Lots of family and work commitments, hence my lack of posting.

I've caught the highlights of everything, but I've not seen too many full games.

But those games I have seen in full - Blackburn at home, Burnley away, Bristol City away and Coventry away today - we've been largely appalling.

Clearly Mowbray is getting it wrong with some of the team selections and lack of continuity. The fact we can't string two wins together has lead to him constantly changing the side. But I can't help feeling that you need to decide your best XI and persist with it, even in defeat, if you want performances to improve.

That said, I don't think he can take the entire blame. The squad he has inherited is poor. Not only do we lack good footballers with the ability to pass, move, look after the ball and create; we also lack any real desire to push on and win games. There's plenty of blood and thunder and players who are happy to chase; but little quality. Mowbray was never a manager to excel with that style.

Plus we have to ask ourselves, would Corberan have even left us in the playoff position had he spent half a season without John Maja like Mowbray has? Personally, I think the early season form of Fellows and Maja was papering over the cracks.

And for that reason, I'm not sure if anyone could get anything out of this squad...

Our midfield is so passive. No legs. Equally as bad defensively as they are going forward.

We don't seem to have any belief that we can push forward and win games and seem all too content to tip tap around at the back. I'm not sure it comes from the manager, I think we lack winners on the pitch.

And out goalkeeping personnel look as dodgy as they come. This position alone has probably cost us a playoff place.

Clearly we need a massive rebuild with the likes of Swift, Jed, Grady and others out of contract and off...

Others will no doubt be sold too, if anyone is daft enough to buy them.

Is Mowbray the man for the rebuild? On the evidence we've seen since his return, maybe not. But at the same time, we have to acknowledge that he has been dealt a pretty sh*te set of cards and he does have a good track record at this level with better players. So who knows.

Whether it is Mowbray or another, it'll be a tough job. Shopping around the bargain basement with no money to bolster a squad that has little in the way of quality to start with.

I’d expected much more from TM and his brand of football and always feared the curse of the returning hero.

At the moment I would expect him to be leaving at the end of the season.

Apologies for the obvious question Stairs, but to be replaced by whom? By the way, I’m also very disappointed but I’m not sure sacking TM is the answer

I know. But it’s the utter frustration of it all.

Other clubs find a new manager that takes them to new levels and exciting times.

Other clubs have players that fight all the way and recognise this was their Cup game. Win it and we are still in it - it was binary.

TM was brilliant with us before and has been brilliant elsewhere. I love the man for all of that and I have a special admiration for him given all he has been through.

But, this is my club and I expect him to repeat what he has done before and not ruin his legacy.

I have been saying all season, to anyone who will listen, that promotion is a curse. If we got promoted we have no money and could not build a squad that could compete.  It would have a season of continual defeat and relegation would be almost certain.

I would be happy to stay in the Championship and have TM build a new league winning team.

But so far there is no sign. No dead cat bounce. Nothing to make a fan proud. I worry that he has lost it.

Not wishing to compare TM with CC but here's the facts.
We have got new players in and slipped down the league, while Valencia have climbed from relegation fodder into almost a European qualification spot.
The league doesn't lie.
