Just seen the goal. No way was that a cross. He meant that.

It was tough going first half to watch, we never really got forward in support, Scanz and Robinson caught the eye, Scanz was troubling their left back but we didnt get the ball to him enough Robinson had his work cut out to contain a very tricky wide man and stuck at it throughout the 90mins and they carted the winger off as he got no joy at all.
Defensively throughout we were strong the pitch was cutting up and thankfully Wigan looked like a team of strangers and we were tight without being adventurous. 2nd half both teams gave a bit more going forward, they missed what looked at the other end, a free header (McLean) and we began to have a few shots ourselves and look threatening. I was sat to the left of Carson's goal so watched Coady's shot come cross curve its way into the postage stamp of the upright, cant decide if he did but will give him the benefit and it was a pearler. The ref who was shocking let lots go tried to play another 10 mins of injury time, we fortunately held on and came away from what was a 6 pointer of sorts damaging them seriously and taking advantage of the few fixtures to look almost in comfort zone. Highlight was the Wigan fans, " You're nothing special we lose every week" in response to the 'We're winning away' chant.

Anyway, a great three points today. Now eleven above relegation and thirteen behind the play offs.
Proper mid table mediocrity. ![]() ![]()

It was hard work to watch but thought we just shaded it, Wigan were bloody awful, two poor teams to be fair but we got the goal. I was starting to think we had let the game get away from us, as it was definitely there to be won. Thought we defended extremely well, Lynch was excellent, Hudson too. Good turn out from the Town fans, I even stayed behind to applaud the players off. Not sure Coady meant his goal but they all count, in fact I was lambasting him for a crap cross in a good area, but was leaping around seconds later.

Seen the highlights, Looked like we were deserved victors. A more powerful header from vaughany and no way that defenders clearing off the line. Both penalty appeals absolute nonsense although how many times have we seen us punished for those nonsensical handball decisions they tried appealing from lynch for. Slowly but surely Powell is leaking out the deadwood and replacing them with quality. Edgar by all accounts looks to have fitted like a glove and the style of football is getting better and much more importantly, effective. im the first to admit when Powells been cautious with team substitutions or selection but he always provides a justification and knows when to give these lads a rocket. Keep the Faith. UTT
Also, Pelts leaving has been treated appallingly by some fans. I'm not going to judge him on this spell. He was one of the best full-backs we've had in years and a top lad by all accounts. Some town fans can be absolutely moronic at times. Hope he does well at cardiff. Just not the player we let go unfortunately. Desperately hoped he could be that marauding full-back we had in the beginning.

A good win on Saturday and 6points from the last 3 games is 5 more than I thought we'd get.

Delighted Coady coughed up to fluking his goal as me n my mate were debating it and think i;ve a pint coming my way Saturday now. I'd actually screamed 'no' the minute it left his foot as it was far too deep, how fickle!
The handball shown on FLS Bet had tucked his arm behind his back desperate Mackay said he'd watched it again and it was stone wall!! WBA are buying the chap Robinson kept at bay who looked really tricky so its rats deserting a sinking ship at the DW. On the Pelts thing, he was a hero after he left first time around to Leicester, remember being a couple of rows behind him at Oldham away with Pilks and folk were allover them shortly after they'd both moved on and up to better things. It hasnt worked out this time, if he cant dislodged Tom Smith then you would think his days in the Champs are behind him ( famous last words) never could cross a ball, as a marauding full back, my leicester mates confirmed that, Leeds fans hated him with a passion and sadly he's in a very average vein of form and think he will fall down the leagues if he doesnt pull up any trees in druid city.

Lad at work was right at the front where the players were celebrating. He said Vaughan asked Coady if he meant it and Coady shook his head and said no.
I'm having none of it. He meant it and it was a classy goal. ![]()

Well done on sending the Pies closer to the drop
Why should a man go to work, if he has the health and strength to stay in bed?
