The quest for a new Hibs manager begins in earnest!

I can still recall "sounding him out" after a shareholders' meeting re the Hibs 1st team being totally leaderless for months. "Why have you not appointed a proper captain Paul, it's been months to find a proper leader"!!?? His reply was, "They are all quiet lads, there is nobody that fits the bill" lol!! Laugh So the solution is???? He left the club not long after that discussion!! As you say Jim - garbage!! I'd add clueless to that description.

Lee Johnson (ex Sunderland?) being mentioned in some Hibs circles as close to signing up as Hibs new manager!! My initial response is, "Who"?????? I'll dismiss this story as mere rumour and expect a tad more impressive action by Hibs board/Ron Gordon esp after "taking their time" and seriously considering the best strategy and managerial appointment that will chart a new positive direction for Hibs in the months ahead. Ex Malmo manager, Jon Dahl Tomasson, also being mentioned. Maybe another interview is in order then eh!! IMO having good interviews are all well and good but achievements and recommendations certainly have a higher rating in this process - gotta get it right!!

Jon Dahl Tomasson would be an amazing appointment, but that seems hugely optimistic.

....And indeed i'm being told that Lee Johnson will be confirmed Hibs new manager "in the next few days".

To say i'm underwhelmed is putting it mildly.

I repeat my previous response - "Who"????????? If this is indeed true, I'm gradually coming to the conclusion our footie club is not being organised or managed properly and hasn't been since the end of season 2020-21. Hibs have clearly lost their "identity" and where we are actually going as one of the bigger footie clubs in the Scot Prem. That malaise is down to people who are at the top of the hierarchical structure of the footie club and IMO it is a huge threat. Also I'm unimpressed re the way Hibs "go about their business" as though nothing has happened.

Just go with SDG and be done with it eh!! I'd like to go with someone who has some kinda serious Hibs affiliation and interest in the future way forward for the club. It's a pity that someone like John Hughes doesn't quite have the full prerequisites that we really wanna see in the next managerial incumbent. Johnson is nowhere near satisfying all those requirements. It reeks of another "friend of a friend" appointment - totally useless and uninspiring!!
