Thank you Ritchie. I can't remember which issue it was but it was in the Hanging On The Telephone fanzine. Colin was manager at the time so must've been 94/95.

That Gary Strodder OG was a thing of beauty, cracking header that any center forward would be proud of if i remember correctly.

Anyway I'm back from International duty and if i don't see at least 5 goals in the first half I'm off home

Given that there been 40+ goals in each of our clubs games you might not be far off Wakey. I think Southport would have given England a harder game than San Marino.

Lets hope the weather is better than it was at the top of San Marino, although if it is then WBA may have trouble finding the goals  Wink

Is 8 boiler man?

Also do we think we'll be having a change in formation today, what with Hogg Holmes and Vallejo all missing in the midfield.

I think high will be found wanting, O'Brien isn't disciplined enough to do the holding role, which really leaves Russell, camara and diarra from the b team. I can't confess to knowing much on either really, but I see Russell being a bit like Vallejo, I imagine he'll have ability on the ball having come through Chelsea's system, but is he a holding midfielder or is he the sort to take O'Brien or Holmes'/sinanis role a bit higher up?

In regards to camara, I've don't think I've seen him either, I've noticed he can be a bit hot headed when I've read things about the b team and youth side, noticed some say he has an air of class on him, it's just is he ready yet, like austerfield and Jackson last season, will it be too soon?

Finally, diarra, I think he's one who prefers playing higher up the pitch, and whilst he looks to have a lot of ability when he plays in the younger sides, his 15mins against Bournemouth, I know, small sample size, showed that physically he might not be ready, granted he was playing out of position, but he was left treading water by was it Steve cook, who has never been blessed with pace and over the last few years it's been noted that even that is leaving him.

High has the most experience of the bunch, but he sometimes comes on and looks like a rabbit in the headlights and he too could probably do with being higher up the pitch. Only other options would be to move colwill or lees into the holding role and bring sarr back in , play ruffles there, he used to be a central midfielder until he was moved into the left back position or we change our system, but we'd still be lacking a holding midfielder and even going 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 or a variation as such, we're probably going to lose the midfield battle.

I see he name dropped mipo, as he impressed in an a Vs b game last week so he might be on the bench today, seen Rhodes in the videos training and he still looks the most natural of finishers that we have, I dunno there's just something when I watch him in those and I just see with the right service, he scores, just can we get the right service to him. I watched the preseason game against Fleetwood and tbh it's the only viewing I've had of him since he came back and whilst he didn't score or anything, one thing that was noticeable was the off the ball movement to get into a goalscoring position, something we've not had since, well when he was last here. I think today will be too soon as will the games against QPR and Middlesbrough, but he could/should be back for the Xmas run in

Boilerman correct.

I think Russell may get the nod today. He didn't play for the B team on Wed night, which could mean he's been promoted.

He has impressed by all accounts. Don't think Camara or Diarra are ready yet.

Well done team. You've got all the anagrams. Turn now to the West Brom forum, there's a load more to get on there. Big Grin

Turton starts. Might as well turn around and go home looking at that lineup
