Burnley vs WBA - Match Thread

Worst football ability from an Albion side that I can remember (so far) - 1st time I've watched them this season, mind.
Good job Burnley are no better.

On another point if VAR can get a couple of Burnley players sent off (for a foul throw, say, or nose-picking) we might stop them scoring.

So what qualifies as a 'clear goal scoring opportunity' I would suggest a fair test would be, will a player from that position score over 50% of the time. So from the semi circle would Vydra score over 50% of the time, I think we know Vydra well enough to suspect he would not. Definitely a yellow card and a foul for handball, but did it deny the goal scoring opportunity, not so sure? An interesting fact the ref has now handed out 111 red cards compared to his nearest challenger with 66. His last two were also overturned on appeal.

Agree it was a shocking pass from Gallagher that put him into a difficult situation but it was no way impossible for him to defend that without handling the ball. Would Vijdra have scored - as opposed to say, Mo Salah? It doesn’t matter which player was involved, he denied a clear goalscoring opportunity, there was no covering player - also get the impression that Ajayi knew the outcome as soon as it went to VAR

How the f#$k can a professional footballer not hit the target from 4 yards.
I thought Diagne was a forward!!!
That's 3 absolute sitters he's missed in the last two games.

Saw bits and pieces of the 2nd half, and were we good or were Burnley atrocious?
We certainly looked harder to break down in midfield and more assertive going forward too.... and those chances!!
COULD'VE been a huge turning point in the season if we'd won that!
