Wonder if he will stick with 3 CBs or was this a one off. Be nice to see some of the youngsters v Carlisle with no points at stake.

postives are we will thrash carlisle and find ourselfs waiting to thrash Reading and get ready for the 5th round if only we could play the pigs at Hillsborough in this ? im sure Jos will be celver enough to have sussed that scrubber wilder out by then !! seriously Jos i just have a feeling will win enough games on that showing to delete any chances of relegation .. so why not have a pop in the cup ? 5th round pigs at home or even someone shit like Huddersfield then youre in the semis and as shit as we are we command a fan base to take us all the way then you can have aday out and enjoy it not like the xxxx playoffs
3-5-2 is the way to go if youve got the tools ? we havnt palmer and fox are scared of there own shadow like butterplop and jones are in midfield !! so why not stick some youngsters in there and see how they bode ?
i think the obvious with this tripe we have would be to move boyd and reach to winbacks !! but who the xxxx are we going to play in midfield ? even when the crab gets back we are still short of 3 central midfield players who can play in a 3 ? matiass would get overun wallace is past it ! butterfield and abdi are only collecting wages ? we have to buy ASAP a midfielder of the Carlton palmer type a center half thats class and get lee fit if its possible ?

352 has been the best set-up for our squad for a while now. In fact Pudil looks much better at CH than he does at FB, I think it will also suit Van Acken more when he is back. Hunt would replace Palmer but I didn't think Palmer was that bad today, nor Fox. The mistakes they make tend to be when they try to go forward, in a 352 this is a problem as that is a key part of their role, so we need to look for wing-backs rather than FBs if we play this way and that means playing Hunt and Reach in those positions. The midfield is shot to pieces at the moment, we need Hutch, Lee, Bannan and even FF back to give us options and ability in there, until then its a matter of them surviving!!

Plamer didnt defend bad !! he just turned every attack we had into defence in the second half and if we had had anyone better there we could have scored goals !! hes scared to death at attacking ? he always always makes the wrong move !! he isnt getting any better hes getting worse ?
for me the simple first move is buy a carlton palmer a midfielder who isnt afriad of anyone or anything thats the first signing and build around him !
we need someone like type Carlton who kicks bites attacks shoots passes scores xxxx goals and doesnt get injured every five minutes ? impossible then ... Diame is the only one ive seen that is a 50% of carlton ?

Rhodes is a luxury we cannot currently afford. He is a shitlining striker, a poacher, someone who thrives on quality balls into the 6 yard box etc etc, but our current style and squad cannot deliver that. So we either have to retool the team to play to his strnegths or we get rid of him and find a striker who we can get more out of. Rhodes has never been a battler or a striker who tracks back to win the ball in midfield, he is simply a goal scorer who if you give him 3 chances, will get one in the net. His goal scoring record is excellent, but without the right sort of team around him he might as well not play. So Jos has to make a decision with him, build a team to suit him or get rid.

Solid enough display. The Grunters didn't really trouble us. Loovens is a walking disaster. For a captain, an experienced player he is clueless. Two stupid stupid fouls. Pudil did well enough, that position suits him as he can play a bit. Fox, Venessa and Palmer were meh !! Got by. I thought it was a good idea giving Palmer the captaincy. Longest player at the club, Derby and all... fair enough, but he was struggling. No point in playing with nine players when a band around the arm makes him want to be counted. Well done Jos on this. Jones, Wallace still meh. Reach was good and gets around. Hard to know if better players around him will suit him or show up his flaws. Rhodes is f##king shit, it so f##kin annoys me. What does he do ? Joao was good, tricky, skilful, pace and then shattered. He troubled them with his footwork.
Best for us Wildsmith, Reach, Joao. Well done Jos, I hope a sign of things to come.

I'm not sure players like Carlton Palmer exist anymore, its all about possession and its impossible to tackle like he did without getting booked or sent off!!

SCO I think Rhodes is done. We need power and pace now. A finisher he was but you can't say he is for us. He was in worse teams than us and scored..... what does that say.... and the peno he didn't take did it for me...
The commentary I was watching brought up a stat of fewest touchs in the game. Moore there keeper was number one, followed by Rhodes ffs !!!

Maybe he is done, but the fact he scored so many goals in worse teams than us might suggest they simply knew how to use him!! He can't track back or tackle to save his life, he shouldn't spend any time in our half at all but if that is what we tell him to do then he will automatically look bad!! And the fact he got so few touches also could suggest we cannot get the ball anywhere near him when we go forward. If we gave him just 3 quality touches in the 6 yard box every game he would score one of them every game, but our current team can't!!
As I said, we either play to his strengths and hope he isn't done, or we get rid to someone who will get 25 goals a season out of him.
The best comparison I can think of for Rhodes is either Lee Chapman or Mark Bright, neither had any pace, neither could tackle that well and neither did much tracking back, but they both scored a ton of goals because we had the likes of Marwood, Sheridan and especially Waddle to provide quality service for them!! Rhodes would get a hatfull if he had players of that quality around him to provide service.
