I'd go with Hope, from what little I've seen of him he wants to at least try, and not just sit on the bench collecting his money. He has great bursts of pace which we can counter with.
I'm not sure Madine should even be here, he's making up numbers for forward players that's it. He needs to be shipped off, he can't cut it and has had plenty of time to show if he can. Even in L1 he wasn't exactly prolific was he? I never understood how someone who hardly scores is called "Goal Machine" it's oxymoronic. Though that's just my humble..

Madine got 19 in our promotion season which is more than decent.
He was very good yesterday & his movement certainly made us far better in the second half. I have seen every league match Madine has played for Wednesday and I honestly don't know if he is good enough for this division. He has never started three consecutive league matches and never played two consecutive league games for more than an hour.
The most consecutive league games started for Madine - 2, May - 9, Nuhui - 31.
Whilst "Goal Machine" is a bit naff, I do think that we could do a lot worse than give him a chance. Can see us letting him go then taking someone else to the PL with his goals. Grant Holt anyone?

I'd like to see him start in place of Nuhiu. Nuhiu isn't as bad as I had thought but he's never going to be a prolific goalscorer. Biggest problem with him is that he's a tall guy who should be heading in goals, but his heading ability isn't that good. Also, instead of using his height to advantage and winning the crosses, he often cringes and loses the ball to the other side's defence.

That's a fair point MS. And it wouldn't hurt to give him a chance certainly, and I definitely haven't seen him play as much as you. I guess it's a shame that what little I have seen of him has given me the sense that he can't and won't cut it at this level. I definitely don't see him ever playing in the Prem. I saw more in Holt when he played for us than I do Madine, I could be quite wrong though and with consecutive starts he might find form and live up to his title.
Let's just hope that Hutch is back in a fortnight, Maguire is suspended, it might be a good thing as his form hasn't been great despite his nicely taken goal yesterday. Maghoma showed that he really can whip a good ball in when he takes it into the corner, we need more of that. I'm not sure what formation would be best against the Hornets, they outscore us 2 to 1 but we can't rely on the defence when our forwards aren't scoring. 4-4-1-1 with Madine or Nuhui upfront tucking May in just behind maybe?

I have to say that considering our lack of strike power we are still doing bloody well; I mean for Christ's sake we are only 4 points off the top! If we can get in that elusive striker we so badly need; that's the one who is going to ensure we score two goals in a game and cease this sh1te of scoring the one and then letting the opposition score the equaliser just before the end, then we are going to give the wealthy clubs like Forest, Derby and the like a real run for their money.
Bring it on!

A day late but hey, fook it.I was working again yesterday and by the time I got home it was all over bar the shouting.Didn't sound too good again and as you all say we need to start scoring more goals and finishing teams off.Although is the reason we don't score the lack of decent crosses and balls to the forwards/into the box,the failure of midfield, SG tactics.
The Roverham fans seem to be getting carried away at the moment,we must not let them get anything against us.

I think its a combination of things regarding our forwards and the goals we are scoring. Imre is right when he says we lack a midfield player who can pick out the runs of the forwards with a killer pass, maybe getting Hutch back will help that. But I also think the service from the wings is part of the problem. Both Maguire and Maghoma seem to prefer to come back inside onto their opposite foot and cross the ball, or shoot as in Maguires case, and this makes it more difficult for the strikers to score. It was noticeable yesterday that we scored when Mags got to the byline and crossed the ball and Nuhiu had a great chance from a great cross from Maguire early in the game. This side of our play needs to improve dramatically!!

I caught the highlights on the football league show the other night. First time in a month I've seen or heard anything about football and us apart from quick viewing on this site. While only 4 points off the top which is great, we are still so infuriating to watch as we could be top !! Westwood looked to be outstanding, while all the other players looked shaky i.e Loovens, Maguire, Semedo and even May who missed with the header. With all this we still managed a draw, so hopefully the 2 week break will get us back on track.
Still can't believe we are still using 442 and teams are going to suss us out fairly lively if not already as SG doesn't seem to go to a plan B. When Leeds were getting on top before there goal we should have gone to a 451 formation to try close it out. Hoping we can get a good loan striker and attacking midfielder in soon. If we did it would give the squad a boost now at a time we need it, to push us on !!
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, you need a team....

Playing 442 does make us vulnerable late on in matches after we have been run around for over an hour. We have let two points slip against Leeds, Ipswich & Millwall.
