No Doh it's not based on two games Doh It's been pretty f ucking obvious from day one that we needed someone to create in midfield Doh Barry, after taking a few games to get up to match fitness, is now providing the spark, and giving Maghoma a pointer in the right direction, and hey presto we have scored 7 in 3 games Thumb up

Be honest, most sane Owls Whistle have been calling for a creative midfielder all season Whistle and now we have two because Barry seems to be bringing the best out of Maghoma Cool

Whether its a creative midfielder or a winger than can get crosses in from the byline, its what we have been lacking all season. No doubt Nuhiu and May have missed their fair share of chances, but with the right service who knows what they can do!!!!

For next season the new owners need to be looking to get in at least one out and out winger, get Barry signed permanently and maybe add one more striker, possibly Keane, not sure what MU think of him so time will tell on that. Of course if we are able to sigbn a proven striker at this level who is clearly better than what we have, then everyone else drops one place down the pecking order, but for now Keane, Nuhiu have the shirts with May in third.

Westwood 6 Not much to do to be honest.
Palmer 8 Best game for awhile, made great challenge at 2-0.
Zayatte 9 Outstanding, seemed to win everything.
Lees 8 Solid as usual.
Dielna 7 Started shakily, got better as game went on.
Lee 6 Did ok, needs to learn to shoot when he has the chance.
Semedo 7 Grafter, got on the Boro's players nerves 4 some reason.
Barry 7 Quiet first half, dictated play more in the 2nd.
Mags 6 Quiet first, more involved 2nd, but little end poduct
Nuhiu 7 Nice skills, won some headers and scored pen.
Keane 7 Worked hard, cud have scored more than 1.
Mcguire 5 didnt get involved that much.
Hutch 5 See above and didnt get booked for a change.
May 5 Didnt have much time to get involved.
SG 7 Got the players to put a shift in against one of the so called better teams in the division.
Nothing great will ever be achieved without great men, and men are great only if they are determined to be so. For glory gives herself only to those who have always dreamed of her.

To be fair to SG, he has managed to get the team to put in a shift in the last 3 games, against the current top 2 and an away game to a team desperate for the points but in fairness who are poor!!

The performances, and certainly the goals, are as a direct consequence of the midfield being far more involved, and being the suppliers for the strikers. The last few games have seen 3 assists for Maghoma, two goals for McGugan and goals for all three of our main strikers. Now if only SG would give 352 a try, we could I think dominate midfield and score even more.

Ok, my thoughts (wrong though they may be) .. we lose 3-2 at Derby (and to be fair could have been a LOT worse) we win 3-0 at Millwall (and so we should) and on to today 2-0 against the 2nd placed team .. who to be fair weren't very good , they flattered to deceive from what I heard !!
Lets not get carried away, we are still away off a top 6 side in my opinion and until SG gets booted we will be , but we have decent players to build with ...

I completely agree Wereham!! These results if anything show that our players can perform, that maybe more of them are worth keeping and developing, but as you say SG in my mind has and still is, holding some of them back by his tactics!! It is definitely encouraging that maybe with a new, more progressive manager, we won't need a complete overhaul to be able to challenge.

Borough weren't really at the races today, I think we started poor, as per, 1st half mags looked a bit lacksadaisical and dielna fluffed a couple of passes.

2nd half looked like Mags had a rocket at half time, we were much the better team, palmer was excellent,Dave took the pen well and was instrumental in the second.

Keane was sharpe. Doh (sorry)

Overall a good team effort

Spoke to a borough fan on way back to car thought that they didn't deserve anything out of the game

So I was dreaming then during all these games when our strikers missed sitter  after sitter after sitter.  I get it. That explains why I don't see it the way you guys do. Missing a sitter by definition means that service has been provided. Sure it helps if the service is even better but again you're all making excuses and I'm going to have to dole out some more badgers once I get my calculator out. Whistle

Depends on your definition of a sitter I suppose!! At the end of the day we haven't created enough chances, and no matter who we have up front it is difficult to score every game when you only get one or two chances to do so. We need to be creating half a dozen good chances for games and hope our strikers can at least get one of them to go in, at that point the confdence rises and you will create more chances accordingly!!
