We ARE??, didn't look like it today, stats look good on the BeeB, but they did against Burton, I am (almost) certain we will kick on after a bad start, but I would prefer us to get a good start and walk away with this league, we have the players, manager and chairman to do this , it just needs the tactics sorting, getting bullied will cost us and we have been found out by other teams , CC needs a plan B & C and fast..plan A don't always work.... BUT , lets see where we are come October and then judge !!

We could break balls about Trump all day long. Seriously though, we're chasing the pack and not in any way starting this race like serious contenders. It's possible we can make up ground and then protrude our nose like some fine falcon.

For now though, we are where some of us thought we might be.

Reality check for the others.

Ignoring the sparrow farts and moving on to say 9pts in the next three games will wipe all this shit away and put us almost top of the pile !!

Brentford our best away ground ever ! then its two easy winnable home games against wigan and bristol !!

Bristol, easy? We'll get a point from Wigan too.

I think we're about to realize how slightly above average we are in this league. I really want to be positive, it's just difficult when we're not that ground breaking.. We can't even score from open play FFS

After seeing their goals we should be ashamed. That completely unmarked free back post header... A complete act of whimsy. Unbecoming of any defenders in a promotion squad.

Christ..... xxxx seriously? I know it's only 4 games, but we're supposed be getting our necks In front.

Spark Is Missing

Fessi replaced Hooper up front with Lees back in for Semedo. Jones had a place on the bench.

Fessi was battling hard & chasing everything and could have had three by half time, twice firing wide from good positions and once having a shot headed off the line after he rounded the keeper. Despite this, we still looked vulnerable at the back with Hunt & Pudil repeatedly caught out of position. Abdi hit the bar with a free kick and could have perhaps done better with a free header.

There was still every reason to think we would win at half time where Hooper replaced the injured Abdi. We still looked the brighter side but increasingly showed vulnerability at the back as Leeds exposed our weakness at full back. They scored just after the hour with a free header after Pudil failed to stop the cross & Hunt was missing.

Hooper forced Green into a brilliant save with his feet as we created the majority of the chances but Leeds looked more likely to score as we committed more men forward. Jones & Buckley replaced Wallace and Hunt. It was little surprise when Leeds scored a second in the dying minutes.

Westwood - 6 - no saves, could do little with goals
Hunt - 3 - another terrible performance
Lees - 6 - poor distribution but solid defending
Hutchinson - 7 - great anticipation, looks assured at CB
Pudil - 3 - worst game as an Owl
Wallace - 5 - hardly involved
Lee - 6 - drifted in & out
Bannan - 4 - gave the ball away too much
Abdi - 6 - hit bar, injured
FF - 6 - maybe tried too hard
Fletcher - 6 - bright in spells
........................................................
Hooper - 6 - good movement
Jones - 6 - little penetration
Buckley - 5 - added little

Leeds are not a good side and this is a poor result. Inevitably there were going to be a couple of home defeats (like Rotherham last season) but to lose one so early against a poor side is very disappointing. Our play is becoming a bit predictable & sides are going to sit back & let us play it around in our own half. What we do have to be is more clinical when our chances come.

No need to panic yet but CC needs to up our game to lift it beyond last season's levels.
