[St Charles Owl]

We all saw the need for a new CH, but surely so have the club!! At the same time though, we need to bring in the right players, not just a warm body like we used to, and that isn't as easy. Its early still, 2 weeks left in the transfer window, so lets hope we get the cover we need. Not going to write off the season at this point, we are better off than this time last year (just) and there are a number of teams below us who would also have expected better starts.

The defence was the problem, 2 goals from crosses both from our left back position, 3rd goal came from a few deflections.

With Hutch and Semi in the CH positions I suppose we were always going to struggle with crosses. Having Lees/Loovens back there means we might not be as pretty, but we can deal with crosses better. As said still can't figure out why Sasso has not been brought back??

like charlie says better we didnt have a warm body Turner springs to mind here !! what a complete waste of time he was !! cc may have learned from this mistake !! but the simple fact is , we are going nowhere losin g on tuesday nights or drawing at home to drab like QPR ? i cant see this changing somehow ive lived with this shit even in the glory years !!

We're not doing well enough upfront either. We scored a late goal against Villa through a bit of fortune and a calm finish, couldn't score against Norwich if we played all day, and could only score against burton via dead ball penalty.

4pts from 9pts is Ok, our first two fixtures were tough. It still doesn't veil our obvious flaws imo.

Missed most of the second half but htis was always going to be difficult against a newly promoted team who see this game as more of an giant killer FA cup tie. Also, not helped by the make shift defence and injuries in the game .

Lees did get his foot stomped on at Norwich so its probably swollen and bruised and need rest before Saturday.

It's only game 3 and CC says you always learn more from the losses and that includes him as well as the players. Still a marathon and not a sprint.

I'm sure the club are aware of the recruitment needs to cover injuries and suspensions with no emergency loans this year but has they have shown the last few days they will not be mucked around by agaents, players or other clubs. The David Jones thing came well out of the blue so I'm sure they are diligently working for a CH and RB etc. I jsut think they like to take their time to get the right player and personality and probably learned from a couple of hasty recruitment mistakes last season. Still 2 more weeks to go on finding the right fits.

MS will have his normal measured view of the game and the new recruits still need to get fit and bed in a little. I'v e been a bit disappointed by Hooper in that he seems to have quickly got unfit over the break but also from the Sky games I saw we are not creating the chances for him and too spread out or slow on the counter.

With the FF thing as well its been a bit of a rollercoaster few days but once we have won on Saturday (4:30 am listening for me and SCO) everyone will be back to being in a good mood again.

hes bought buckley whos obviously convincing him about as much as mcgeady did !! to me jones and buckley are not going to etch that extra quality needed to get in the Autos !! we seem to have bought 2 cheap signings here when it would have been better spending this little amount off cash on lopez and sasso ? we are still 3 quality players away from where we need to be !!

also fletcher needs to show up quick aswell because he was the mjor difference in class we all thought when the season started ? a few more games without a goal and its looking desperate ! although Hooper took quite some time to score i suppose so ill just be patient here !! i watched leeds last week against Birmingham and there defence is set up for through balls and hopefully fessi going in one on noe with that England legend Green ? we have to exsploit there center backs with this and less off the playing it to the wings !!
