West Brom are poised to complete the signing of #nufc winger Jacob Murphy before Thursday's deadline. Straight loan to end of season, no permanent option to buy at this stage #wba

Looks like some truth in this - Percy is normally on the money - Murphy was on the bench against MC last  night.

He seems a decent player and we're desperate for a winger so this looks a good signing and ought to mean that we get to see less of Robson-Kanu, which can only be viewed as a massive positive.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

Sadly, we are now a second rate club.
People perceived us at one time to sit above the likes of the Leicester’s  Brighton’s Watford’s, Bournemouth’s, Fulham’s of this world- even above those Dastardly Dingles.

Now, we are streets behind many of these clubs. Now, we can’t even seem to sign permanent younger players and have to rely on loanees and aged cast-offs presumably as we can’t afford anything else.

More than rather depressing especially, if we don’t get promotion, many of our senior players will be off.

Confused

Most senior players had a gentlemen's agreement they would stay and fight to get us promoted. But with the club not investing to replace the quality players we have already lost, they will be seriously considering better options (we lost Nyom, Evans, Rondon, McClean, Yacob, McAuley, Foster, Chadli) That's 8 1st team players who were in the PL last season. You could make a case to say Johnstone, Bartley, Townsend have come in, but it's clear we have not replaced a single player with one that is as good as one that has left. Any others we have are just loans or temp signings.
I'm greatful we have a good collection on youngsters, we will be relying on them more and more in the future. Darren will get more from our youngsters then anyone else possibly could, but he has to show a lot more faith in them. We are certainly at a crossroads.
Sadly without 2 or 3 quality signings I think promotion could be a step to far for us this season.
With the loanees's going at the seasons end Hoolahan. Mears, Myhill, Brunt, Mozza & Barry will also need to be replaced. With Jenkins declaring he has taken a loan and it will be repaid from the parachute money at the end of the season? we will have no funds for summer transfers.
Our team next year could have a very different look about it. Young, short of experience, but they should be able to run for 90 minutes.
It could end up being more exciting then this year, the roller coaster continues.

Albion's loan move for Jacob Murphy edges closer thanks to flurry of activity at Newcastle. Not done yet, but he remains top target. #wba could return to #nufc if Hayden becomes available. Interest in Mings has cooled https://t.co/d6KxmqvqsW

? | West Brom have enquired about a deal to sign Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah on loan. #WBA https://t.co/DaQ4OOj7jF https://t.co/nBAR11DGUV

Murphy could be a good loan for us, Hayden played last night, assume whom ever Newcastle get in depends who leaves - a lot of guessing going on ?
According to the Media us and the Seals are signing everyone Big Grin

Assombalonga another linked today, would be a great addition, but Boro want £10m for him.

Sadly Karlan Grant (Charlton) has signed for Huddersfield - he looked worth a punt at a couple of million - 14 goals so far this season?

Burke starts again for Celtic as the lone striker and Barnes is on the bench for Leicester away at Liverpool.

I like the idea of signing Jacob Murphy. Can play both wings so gives us additional cover for Phillips aswell as replacing Barnes on the left.

Would be a good signing - Phillips will be out for a few more weeks, then it appears to take him a while to rebuild his confidence.
Also Phillips needs to be a little more selfish and score more goals himself though. His return does not reflect his ability and effort.

Barnes on the bench ffs. What a waste, can't believe he's happy with that.

Only back to give Vardy & Maddison a threat, he's not really going to displace them IMO
Albrighton is no better the Barnes, but Barnes has the problem of displacing an experienced PL player, Bit like our youngsters problem tbh.
