despite being at work I got to see the whole match coz my spud mate has a bt steam subscript and put the game on for me. TBH I wasn't sure if he did that to torment me as I didn't see us having a cats chance in hell and he was smarting over the 1-1 draw with Newport? Well how wrong as I? AP had said he was going to go at liverpool as we were massively underdog anyway and this was the philosophy he has been trying to instil in the players after the more defensive minded TP era.

WE apparently had a flu ridden squad and so some changes were made that we might all have thought weren't going in our favour RK upfront no Ron. Nyom on the right no hegazi in CD. Liverpool looked like they were fielding their strongest side compared to us.

However as we started to look comfortable Evans and foster had an embarrassing misunderstanding and it cost us but that seemed to be the turning point as every player in a wba shirt were galvanised tackling pushing forward winning first and second balls snapping at heels and there was some very neat triangular passing under pressure some back heels and really clever football being played.

J rod was world class his goal was a peach and perfect timing so soon after theirs as I feared the worst when they scored first.
the second goal was also brilliant as we nicked the ball off them through sheer determination pressing and closing down individuals.

then as we got the corner which led to the ill fated third goal I said to my spud mate we are good at corners we can hurt them here and sure enough Daws rose to the occasion and then so did the VARS FARCE. The game was dominated by stop start video decisions from then on and all of them favoured Liverpool and lets have a look see why that might be scooby?

ANDRE MARINER IS A VILLA FAN! YES its true look it up on the net folks. He is supposed to be barred from officiating any games between the midlands sides and aston villa do the research I have and I reported this fact to wba a while back following the game thats already been mentioned on this thread where we were mugged by this guy as a referee

final thought for now is this was an immense performance and if we applied this kind of energy and commitment till the end of the season then I do believe we will survive as I can see worse teams who looked like they were escaping everton west ham watford burnley and teams now sliding like brighton huddersfield and southampton

Having watched the game on BT Sports I have to agree with what many have said already.
As a team we were immense! Every single player contributed to what was a thoroughly deserved win.
J Rod, Hegazi, Fozzie, particularly outstanding.
The commentary team on BT were totally biased. Liverpool this, Liverpool that, blah, blah, blah! Nothing about the tremendous display by the Baggies!
VAR favoured Liverpool big time! How on earth did Andre (I hate the Baggies) Marriner get to be the video ref? After robbing us at Chelsea a few seasons ago I thought he was prevented from officiating us - surely that includes being a video referee?
I hope the flu bug and injuries aren't too serious as we need to take this momentum into our league fixtures. Come on you Baggies! Boing Boing!
