I can understand some of the changes because at the end of the day the real money is in staying in the league. So while clubs talk a good fight about wanting to have a good cup run, all they are really thinking about is keeping the squad fresh for the league.
That said I was surprised by AI's comment that "some of the lads told me they were felling a bit tired" so they were rested. While I appreciate they are professional athletes and they need to be at their peak. It does not seem to long ago when they had two games a week quite often without a problem.
I still reckon they should all be put on piece work, do your job or you don't get paid, be far more effective than giving bonuses, £xxx for an effective tackle, £xxx per kilometre run, £xxx for an assist or a save I'm sure you get the idea.
