Hi Aries,black lake school mean anything to you?

Hi pieandbovril, yes Black Lake Junior Mixed (to give it its proper name back in the day) was my junior school from 1961 to 1965. Mr Williams ('Wellygogs') was the headmaster, and there was also a Mr Stanley (who had us standing to attention in the playground), a Miss Preston who got the train from Shrewsbury every day, a Miss Boyd (Boydy Baggy Drawers we called her) and other teachers. The boys and girls had their own playgrounds, and the boys' outside toilets backed onto Bilhay Lane and we used to piss over the wall into the street. Any of that ring any bells??
