as soon as Ricky German went with the first team instead of playing at Wrexham ........... makes you think.
It made me think about the development of our young players. We employ a specialist goalkeeping coach even if it is only Matt Duke ........ but there are experienced pros around the club who should, if they aren't already, be mentoring youngsters trying to make their way in the positions they played.
Ricky German made me think about it. Roger Wylde may be employed for his medical ability, but he was a more than decent centre forward. Any young centre forward could learn a lot just talking to him ..... and Bob Newton was more than a slab of beef up there, he knew what he was doing.
Any young midfielder could do worse than hang on to Danny's every word, and Maguire should be seeking out Morgan to discuss every game. Hewitt played hundreds of league games at full back and even Chris Turner could run a course on how not to come for a cross and blame a centre back. (Couldn't resist that last one!)
