The Russian match result was secondary to the crazy loss of goals v New Zealand in Malaga and the chat, before and after that first NZ match with many Celtic fans, was about McGrain being wrongly fielded at full back from the very beginning of our group and eventually being 'skinned alive' on his flank. Their qualified view was that McGrain's season was done and they were right!! Sure, Hansen and Miller's collision was unimpressive but it most certainly was not the only factor that eliminated us from a decent group and with a decent squad of players to choose from.
