Nice one, Shep.
I do actually remember us playing them at Leeds Road in the FA Cup. Would've been early 80s. We have a unique record in this game that we are ( or were at the time) the only team to concede 3 goals in a match by 3 different keepers.
We lost 3-0. At 1-0 down Andy Rankin got injured and had to go off. No sub goalies on the bench back then so Steve Kindon went in. We went 2 down and so Mick Buxton decided Kindo would be better off back up front. So young Mark Lillis went in and also let one in.
The Shrews were a bit of a bogey team in the 80s and in one season did a 5-1/5-1 double over us.
And talking of goalies, remember the match at Gay Meadow in the 90s which was played under two foot of water and Warnock had his famous half time rant? Well in goal for Shrewsbury that day was our old friend Slippery Tim Clark.
