I bet there are no days off for these guys. Just a light training spin of 30km.

The women fared no better in the downhill section with an horrendous crash involving the Dutch leader, Annemiek van Vleuten. She seems to be in a stable condition in hospital though.

The Gold was won by her compatriot, Anna van der Breggen, just beating Emma Johansson of Sweden, with Elisa Longo Borghini of Italy taking the Bronze. The three overhauled long time leader Mara Abbott in the final 500m. GB's Lizzie Armitstead was a creditable 5th, but had fallen too far behind in the climb to have a positive medal chance.

Wednesday sees the Individual Time Trials - women at 12.30pm and men at 2.00pm. My tips would be Ellen van Dijk and Tom Dumoulin for a Dutch double. The Belgians and the Dutch seem to be the ones in form and GB will be relying on Chris Froome for their hopes, but he seems to have nothing left in his legs since the second week of the Tour de France.
