The Olympics means track and field to me (with swimming thrown in) 
Anything else is a sideshow.
I mean, I can't imagine Hercules needing a cyclist or a nice dancer during the Ancient Greek wars in Mesopotamia or Jason wanting a 3 day eventer with dressage skills in his quest for the Golden Fleece
Women's Beach volleyball may have come in handy though 
Anyway, the Golden Fleece has f'ucking shut down now
so I suppose we have to go with the times
