For anyone thinking of leaving, have a look a some of the bigger forums, OMG, strikes me our board is Utopia in comparison.
Yes we all have our differences, but how boring would a site be without. " Great game today, Rondon played well" yes Rodon played very well" " I think we should resign Willie Johnston" "Yes he was very good you know" "Nice rain today" "yes exceptionally nice rain".
We ALL have to be able to express our opinion without any fear of personal attack or retribution from anyone and in return it is up to us ALL, not to abuse that privilege given to us by our fellow posters, to express what we think.
There is one point I want to bring up though as it has come up in the past and also caused problems then, as many of you will remember.
That is the terms, "fair weather fan" "armchair supporter" and similar phrases, in my eyes being a true fan has nothing at all to do with, whether or not you have had a season ticket for 75 years or not missed a match home or away in 25 years. Though, granted they would be a pretty good indicator, technically you don't even have to be fan to do either, you may just be going to report on the game or sit with a friend. There are many people who are not in a position to go to games every week, whether that be financial, football is not that cheap anymore, it may be logistical, as to were they live, it may be for health reasons or a multitude of other possible combinations. None of which stop that person loving the club any the less than the guy who has had his season ticket for 75 years, in fact for them it is often worse as they want to be there but are stopped by whatever reason.
A true fan is someone who hurts when we lose and is filled with happiness when we win, someone who never has a day go by without thinking of the love of their life. (not talking about the wife Worldclass). I think the problem when phrases like those are used they are often aimed at a specific comment not even a person, but it is far to easy for them to be be taken to heart by people they were not aimed at and then bad feeling is caused all around.
Anyway long enough rant: Salopbaggie - News at Ten - Somewhere in Salop
