I listened to Stubbs interview in the tunnel right after the game and you could hear the disappointment in his voice rather than the excitement and joy of the what was achieved on the pitch by the team. I know none of you are condoning anything that happened but there has to be punishment of Hibs and a lot of outside shame because of these events.
Being discussed on social media that certain Rangers staff observed assaulting Hibs fans. Hibs FC intends to prosecute them as well if this is the case although I'd rather await more accurate info TBH! Also good bbc footage of a good number of Rangers players leaving the pitch and they looked intact and non-plussed! I must emphasise again the number of 'offenders' are miniscule within the 21k+ Hibs support and also the euphoric celebrations in Embro on Sunday more than made up for Stubbs' disappointment - he was overwhelmed by the hero worship of the 150k+ people who came to cheer them on!! RANGERS ARE THE COMMON FACTOR IN THE NASTY SIDE OF THIS EVENT, BEFORE AND AFTER THE MATCH, AND THAT'S BEING CONVENIENTLY IGNORED! THERE IS MORE TO THIS STORY THAN MEETS THE EYE!! Factions of their fans were attacking Hibs folk well before this match began and lots of witnessed statements from Glesca folk are confirming this fact. We have no significant record of doing likewise in recent years! Nuff said!
Hibs formal statement finally issued:
