That was proper nerve wracking, especially in the first half. Sweating like a pig just watching. Had to take my shirt off, and nobody wants to see that!
Fair play to Brighton they hammered us in the first half and it took some brilliant resolute defending and a bit of luck to keep us in it. We also got lucky that the ref called it evens when Hooper got the last push in on Dunk for our goal, they both had hold of each other well before the ball arrived and, as someone already said, Dong nudged Hooper to cause the extra push. Ha!
Fair play to the Brighton fans as well, they created a great atmosphere and it was quite difficult to hear the Wednesday fans until the Brighton lot calmed down in the second half. Have to say the ref did ok for the most part but I didn't think Hutch's yellow was one and booking Hunt for time wasting seemed a bit like playing to the crowd as he only took the same amount of time as any of our other throws. Kayal was very fortunate to stay on the pitch after scything down Forestieri and then going on to commit several other fouls afterwards. Brighton were clearly desperate towards the end as they basically hacked us down every time we looked like breaking over the halfway line but in the end it didn't matter.
Now comes the job of organising tickets, travel, etc, for Wembley. Going to be a great day out, hopefully with a winning outcome.
