Could it be the Club is still smarting over losing Dan Ashworth to the FA and, this is their way of exacting some revenge?
Personally, I think that the lad should be allowed to decide for himself, especially if the intention really is to put him out on loan next season. (Can we have him at Cheltenham please ).
To say no and then keep the lad on the bench for the last three games can only risk alienating the FA (tough
), Dan Ashworth, who most of us would love to see back at the club and, most importantly, the youngster himself.
We've already had two disaffected players in recent times causing disharmony for our club. We really don't want a third petulant child deciding he wants out.
