The stars on the threads or the stars under your name?

The stars on the threads are a matter of clicking one to five depending how good you think it is. The trouble with that system is that petty folk go around giving the threads of members or boards that they don't like a one star. And believe me we have people who do that. They did it on the old BBC 606, they still do it on JA 606 and it's why we disabled the function on New. Despite that, though, I like the fact you can rate a thread. We just have to pity the saddos who use it as a weapon!

The stars under your name change the more posts you submit as does the user title below your name. You can't amend the number of stars you have. You have to do the work of contributing to the forum to get them! But you can change your user title in the edit profile function on your user cp. You can be the kit man, manager, general dogsbody, the chief sandwich maker, tea lady, whatever you want as long as you keep it clean.
