I can't recall such a spectacle at Hampden on Saturday after years and years of randomly supporting Hibs in cup semi-finals and finals. A goalie who, after another great save from John Rankin's 'daisy cutter', received that standing ovation from Hibs fans all around the stadium - it wasn't for the Hibs team at that point but for the goalie! Amazing! It just proves that we have been starved of watching a solid, all round performer in this position for far too long, and by gum, what a positive reaction and huge appreciation expressed by thousands of cabbage fans throughout the stadium. A unique event indeed to revere a guy who I previously compared with another cult hero Hibs goalie, John 'Budgie' Burridge!!
