However, now the big money is coming, it's time to move on...

The football is absolute dross and we've been riding our luck in recent weeks to pick up any points at all. With the age of our squad we need a complete overhaul and I doubt Pulis is good enough in the transfer market to replace the likes of McAuley, Olsson, Mozza, Sessegnon, Saido and the like, who will all be on their way soon for one reason or another.

With the exception of Evans and Fletcher, who came with lots of game time for United, Pulis' signings have been dross. McLean is a lower league kick and rush merchant. Chester cost big money but is unproven in any position in a back 4 and looks bog average. Lambert was a complete waste of time given that our style of play involves a forward just running around for 90 minutes. Lindegaard must be one of the highest earning 3rd choice goalkeepers in the league.

McManamanan and Rondon have shown glimses but neither are really suited to Pulis' style.

Overall a lot spent with not a great deal of improvement. Now the money is available, we need a coach who can actually identify a good player and pick players on the pitch who can pass to each other. It's going to be a big summer (again) but it's time for a change.

Slick, I think you're spot on. I read a number of posters - not just on here - who say that, with the money coming in next season, Pulis will be able to buy a better class of player and that he should be judged when he's had the chance to build his own squad. I assume that means he'll be able to buy taller full backs and a raft of higher quality defensive midfielders. Ignoring the obvious fact that all teams will be richer, not just us, so we will have no real material advantage, it assumes that TP will effect some kind of "Paul on the road to Damascus" conversion (feel free to put me right on that quote, Baggievicar) and start playing expansive, attacking football. He won't, there is not a shred of evidence he wants to or could do that, it's not in his DNA or his history. If our club's sole ambition is survival in the Premier League, regardless of the lack of excitement or entertainment, then stick with Pulis. If, however, we aspire to anything slightly greater (a shot on target in every game could be a start), then surely we have to think about changing the manager. We may have the money next season to buy better quality but what player, with any level of personal ambition, will want to come to the Hawthorns?
