Agree with RTES that Phillips relied upon natural instinct rather than pace but, his ratio of goals to shots must have been very impressive.
I last saw him at a game at the Liberty Stadium when, having left us, he was playing for the Blues.
Swansea were winning the game and he was brought on as a late substitute with about 10 maybe 15 minutes to go.
In that short period he scored twice and the Blues stole the 3 points.
I don't see why we could not have kept him for another season or two as an impact sub.
As I recall his knees would no longer stand up to a full 90 minutes play but, I still feel that he had a part to play for us in that role.
