Stubbs revealing this morning his reasoning for taking the short break in Spain:-
1. Take all the players to a very relaxed environment, well away from the Scottish media hype on the lead up to a cup final appearance.
2. They can go through their training routines and preparation on pitches that are in very condition (Hiibs training pitches are currently in a heavy condition) with no need change venues etc due to random interference from adverse weather.
The explanation sounds reasonable but I'd comment that Hibs will be returning to play on pitches that are likely to be heavy anyway. Also the SFA's announcement re laying new turf at Hampden at the beginning of this week is intriguing to say the least. How can this new turf possibly root itself before this cup final on Sunday????? I do a fair amount of gardening, incl grass reinstatement/renewal, and I don't see that happening!
