Yeh, that WAS Ron Davies, silver - he was another fine header of the ball, and a really good all round forward. If I remember right he scored goals for fun for the Saints for many years then transferred (ironically) to Man Utd where he was never quite the same in terms of his finishing.
Blimey - just Googled him, and he died 3 years ago in America; in pretty sad circumstances in his later years
