I think both managers are football idealists who show a rigid adherence to their beliefs no matter the circumstances. The magic hat pish rangers fans throw in the direction of their manager isn't very different to the type of crazy adulation Deila was getting from the tims last season.

. . . or the same adulation Stubbs gets from Hibs fans. I don't see the problem - manager does well, fans adulate. Where's the issue?

Edit: I get your philosopher manager analogy, it makes sense sort of, but it's also the modern way. Mourinho stuck rigidly to his system, as does Klopp, LVG, Guardiola, MacInnes, Neilson and even Stubbs.

Modernity. Isn't it time we looked at it?
