Really open 0-0 both teams went for it from the off. CP said Hogg had a knock from Wolves on his RL interview, so going 442 left us open at times, Smithies a couple of excellent stops and psyched out JR who pulled his pen well wide.
You could see Wells enjoyed extra time and space that playing alongside Holt allowed, Robinson has grown over the past week too and deserves the shirt over Dicko at present.
We had shots and crosses, got into good positions from excellent work all afternoon from Bunn & Scanz but couldnt find that clear chance and worried if we had gone behind if we could have found a goal ourselves.
There is certainly more to come from us, we need to get the ball down a bit quicker and retain possession more, neither Coady or Butterfield have much pace so it's crucial we get it down and out wide as soon as possible where we can hurt the opposition.
A massive improvement over the past week to what has been on offer and hope the break can be used to get the squad back to full fitness, including JV and Gerrard pushing at the door.
The train trip lot were as pissed and loud as I expected as many as 150 for Irish.
