I'm not sure I'd call McManaman a failure, but you do have to wonder why we bought James Chester, and loaned in Gnabry, and Lambert has been a total failure.
But yes, if I were JP, I might be asking TP why I should trust him with large sums of transfer cash.
To my mind, we've failed to do anything with Berahino, either make best use of him or sell him, and we've failed to get in Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips, although I can see why Charlie Austin plumped for Southampton, being near to where his family lives.
