Richards spent too much time kissing the arses of the FA to secure his own future
The club should have supported Di Canio more (lets face it, Alcock would have been done for simulation in this day and age 
) and perhaps the last 15 years would never have happened. If we'd stayed up another season (highly likely with Di Canio and the other players he would help to attract) the parachute system would have then been in operation and who knows what would have happened.
