Dev, you are 100% correct. Some the absolute bunkum being talked about is seriously making me wonder if some CFC fans actually live in this world or live in an X-Box.
Its always the same old - "wheres all the money going" - lets spend some more. They all forget about loan interest, running expenses, wages, then other costs ie pitch relaying, ground upkeep etc.
Simple fact is we probably earn about £2.5 million on gate receipts, maybe £2-300k PROFIT on catering and about £150k on advertising and shop sales that's about £2.9 mill income.
Off set that with wages £2.2 mil total (Players £1.8mil) say £400k interest, NIC say £150k, New pitch say £100k, running expenses say £200k, Policing £100k?, Business rates £100k? Insurance must be at least £100k. Which means our outgoings must be around £3.35 mil and I can well see where DA is looking for an extra 1000 gate or we need to sell players to stay solvent.
Without Dave Allen we would still be at Saltergate playing in Lge 2 because players wouldn't be interested in our facilities.
Fans are talking about starting again at the bottom and working our way back up. FFS how many would pay to watch AFC Chesterfield vs Ormskirk? In the next breath they say the wont renew their season ticket if we get relegated ????????
