baggieman, if you read my thread I said not an excuse maybe a reason, we have the smallest squad, we travelled away to Chelsea, stayed away for saints, travelled to Bristol then played villa, villa were home in the league, at home in the cup and then a short hop to us ..... less tiring.

Professional players should have put in a better performance but a small squad already carrying niggles and knocks will struggle to play well, we also have one of the oldest squads in the league, as a middle aged man I know knocks, cuts bruises and strenuous activity take longer to recover from.

Just trying to put a balanced fair argument as to why we were shite .......

Yeh, I think those points are valid and go SOME way IMO, of explaining poor player performance on Saturday.
Mentioned this before tho - this seems to show another ridiculous side to TP, in that even when the situation is crying out for different players to be given a game - Poco, Gamboa, MacMannaman, Chester - TO GIVE OTHER PLAYERS A REST - he just won't bend. The other clubs mentioned have played as many games but have probably rotated their players sensibly to keep them fresh.
Probably no coincidence that every performance of this spell has been worse than the one before
