I get that. Only with respect to leaving London, though, as it is a major cultural destination. Most other cities in Britain are not that much different from one another. But, I think people are a bit more mobile than they used to be when I was growing up. Back then, entire families (mine being one) never ventured outside the city walls to live. I'm still the only one not living in Sheffield. Tbh., I couldn't live in London - not jut its cost of living, but I just don't like massive cities anymore - except to visit.
