He was doing just fine until they started booting him black and blue. After that, when he was fit enough to play he understandably wasn't risked. He wasn't our player after all, and sending a young lad back to his parent club seriously injured when it could have been avoided isn't the most responsible thing to do.

Wherever he plays in England - even at reserve/U21 level - he'll be protected from Neanderthals by the referees in a way that was never afforded him in Scotland. That's a sad fact for Scottish football.
