To reach the play-offs from our current position we'd need about 12 wins and three draws. That leaves five defeats to the end of the season. Danny would get the freedom of Ashgate and Old Brampton if he achieved that. Me, I'm going for seven wins to keep us up.

I think as far as Mr Sheridan goes absence has made the heart grow fonder. You could argue he bullied his players and gained promotion because he brought together three players in excellent goalscoring form. He failed to plan his Division One campaign and made no provision at all for losing his goal machine. He then had no idea how to pull out of his relegation tail-spin. He brought in Leon Clarke on loan, who topped the scoring charts and was dragging us back up the division, then allowed him to go and we plummeted. The Johnsons isn't a trophy managers plan to win. Because of it though we kept him on and we started the next season exactly as we'd ended the previous one. He didn't get Plymouth up and didn't care enough even to settle in the area. He grabbed the lifeline at Newport, achieved ephemeral success which seemed to be running out when the Oldham offer came along.

Good manager? Not the worst, but he needs to show he's more than a one-trick pony. IMO he's not in the same league as Paul Cook, though maybe they'll soon be swapping divisions ...... hope not. Don't want Oldham to go down.
