This impending trial was reported by Scottish news channels quite a while ago and I'm sure most folk are aware of this issue. What intrigues me is the fact it covers an alleged assault that happened almost three years ago - a trial system that appears to operate at a 'snail's pace'!
Aye, it seems to be taking an age, there's been a few adjournments along the way - the referral to the High Court was one of them.
You say most folk are aware of the issue, yet if that's the case why would Hughes/Stubbs/anyone even entertain the idea of securing his footballing services right now? Are you sure Stubbs is aware of it? Nobody in the media has said a word about it. Why not?
Wouldn't it be better all round to wait until the trial is over before doing anything?

He chased them round the corner and suddenly met the rest of the lads incl my son - all fairly big lads and a mix of Hearts and Hibs fans! What happened next? They exchanged selfies on their mobile phones, all posing with Stokesy and his mate/bodyguard just sat in Stokes' plush Mercedes and never moved an inch - typical Stokesy after a night out in one of the Embro nightclubs!
You could maybe forward that fairy story on to his defence team.
