Man Utd played their first 11 and struggled to beat a lowly Third Division team, needing a 93rd minute penalty to do it!! WBA scored a 95th minute goal to draw at home against Bristol City, they played their first 11. Villa played their first team and could only draw at League 2 Wycombe. Chelsea player their first 11 at home against L1 Scunthorpe, Man City made changes but still fielded a very strong team, whereas their opponents Norwich made a lot of changes and lost, Arsenal played a very strong team but their opponents Sunderland fielded a reserve side and lost.
While these weren't earth shattering shocks or even defeats for Prem teams it did show maybe a slightly better level of respect for the competition from the top teams. In fact it was more a case of the teams near the bottom of the prem that fielded less first team regulars, maybe thats a sign of the huge rewards for staying in the prem as opposed to relegation!!
